Yoga

Yoga is a mind and body practice with a 5,000-year history in ancient Indian philosophy. Various styles of yoga combine physical postures, breathing techniques, and meditation or relaxation. Many women find that yoga is beneficial for improving their mental and physical health during menopause. Research on the link between yoga and menopausal symptoms has been mixed. Some studies find no significant link, while some studies find that yoga can improve some menopausal symptoms, stress levels, overall quality of life. Since yoga combines physical exercise with meditation and breathwork, it can be a good option to improve circulation, regulate your mood, strengthen the body, and promote good mental health.

Yoga is very beneficial with stretching and mobilising movements to ease achy joints or restless legs. I find the breathing and meditation side very relaxing. Although no one thing seems to help, a combination of exercise, healthy eating and of course HRT make life worth living again

Totally agree with your comment Tracey! My biggest challenge is having the energy & motivation to get my yoga mat out - when I do I feel awesome!

I find yoga a useful tool in my kitbag for dealing with my symptoms. The breath work and gentle stretching help my mood and relieve any muscular pains especially helpful for my pelvic aches and pains.

Yoga is my jam to get through this time in life. I am using a mix and match approach to diagnose and treat perimenapause and can't believe I waited so long for support! Yoga is probably the one I feel strongest about and would not give up. I use YouTube, but was already very familiar with it from classes over the years. I like background music, candles, focus on breath and stretching. I also am using A good dr, estradiol patch, supplements and sunshine, which I also find essential!
