Reversing Menopause

In 2016, scientists in Athens announced they could “reverse menopause” by injecting platelet-rich plasma (PRP) into women’s ovaries, stimulating tissue regeneration. The trials, presented at the European Society of Human Reproduction, claimed to have reversed menstrual cessation in multiple women including a 40-year-old who underwent menopause 5 years earlier. This begs the question… If one day you could, would you choose to reverse menopause?– Caria Community

Yes, I will do it. It’s not about ageing it’s about life quality . Thank you

    • Elle6 years ago

That’s absolutely correct. It is about quality of life. This is being discussed in the podcast I mentioned - The Doctors Kitchen - is ageing a disease or is it vanity? The conclusion is that the ails it causes our body is that it is a disease and it’s not vain at all to be wanting life quality for the years we are here. The cost to society for old age diseases is sky high, so why would we not do something about it?

Hit menopause too early due to prolonged stress, so I would reverse, if it were possible. However I wouldn’t inject anything into my ovaries. I Would really love to had another child but I won’t put my health on the line to achieve this.

No,There are something’s you should leave alone. There’s a time for everything!

    • Hannah6 years ago

I feel the same as you! I would be wary about reversing what seems like is supposed to happen at some point ?

    • Ellie6 years ago

I totally agree with you Olivia, it’s a natural part of ageing should be left alone!

Well that’s not something I’d ever considered! I wouldn’t want it reversed for fertility reasons, but for other health reasons I could see it might be attractive to some. I have a history of osteoporosis in my family & heart disease, so if increased oestrogen could help protect me from those, then maybe?

I wouldn’t as like everyone has said it’s nature & we shouldn’t mess with nature. Plus I wouldn’t feel happy about injecting into my ovaries.

  • Yvonne6 years ago

Might as well have it done.

  • Jen6 years ago

I would not, only because peri menopause has been such a trial I would not want to start over again. I say that having been able to conceive and raise my children when I wanted. When I reach menopause maybe I’d feel differently, especially if menopause brings more serious health concerns but I can’t imagine it today.

Honestly, I am not sure. I would love to have a good night sleep and eliminate hot flash but I don’t miss monthly periods or look forward to the possibility of pregnancies. This is a lot to think about.

Lol BINGO If they can “reverse” the negatives of menopause, and still “pause” periods and pregnancy possibilities...then I’d have to seriously consider it and the possible negative side effects short and long term. Although, let’s face it, we know women, not men, would need to be the scientists, the corporations CEO’s and the politicians, globally. ie When MOTHER’S are finally in all the top 7 power position layers, globally, as CEO’s, Board of Directors and Heads of State, that’s when it will be mastered. :-))))

I’ll take a hot flash and brain fog over that monthly mess every time.

No, this is nature doing it's thing . I won't fight it and will accept it gracefully. Blessings

  • EEC6 years ago

No; I defo wouldn’t want to go back to having monthly’s!

There is an amazing series of podcasts on reversing ageing at The Doctors Kitchen. There are 4 in total, 3 have been published so far and part 1 & 2 are absolutely amazing to listen to. Did you know for instance, that hysterectomy before menopause is associated with Alzheimer’s? I was recommended one last year, with the doctor citing that it was the prime time to do before meno pause - but she never was able to explain why. So I hesitated and thank god for that! Please have a listen - there is so much info in these podcasts - absolutely love them.

Are there product line sales efforts tied into the information being provided? If so, I’d be skeptical about the possibility of cherry picked research data points to increase product buy-in to create sales of a product line.

I think it would depend on what age I was when going through menopause. If I were unfortunate and had been in my mid thirties or early forties and wanted another child then I say yes go for it but I’m not sure how I would feel being offered that now I’m nearly fifty and just starting peri menopause. Definitely food for thought there.

  • Aw6 years ago

Yes I would welcome the opportunity. It is about quality of life

  • Earlypause6 years ago

No I won’t, even with the symptoms. I think in life we have cycles and stages and its just that. I went into menopause at 42

  • MaryReBell6 years ago

I would be tempted. I have just had a stay in hospital where they took me off HRT for five days. My bad memory was worse, longer and more extreme hot flushes in hottest week for 60 years, but the worst was the emotional rollercoaster and garbled speech/ thought processes. I probably have to plan to stop permanently and it scares me as it is unlikely I will be able to continue to work. So, if this was the only option in retaining elements of rationality I would take it

My question is this, will this injection cause cancer or some other crazy side effects?

  • Tina2 years ago

No. I am experiencing less and less migraines because my migraines have always been hormonal. No way I would go back to more. My quality of life is SO much better without constant migraines and all the symptoms that come with those (not just the pain). I am hoping once I am finally in menopause that they will stop entirely. I’ve heard this can happen. Plus, there is no way in hell I want periods back. Gawd no. I am enjoying the lack of mess and pain…only a couple times a year now. Hopefully done soon. They cannot regenerate eggs so I assume that you would still be infertile though. I’m all for that. Looking forward to no more fear of pregnancy.
