I exercise all day, I’m a home carer and ride my bike from call to call. While this has helped physically my mood swings were ridiculous and had to resort to HRT for my sanity, and my kids! I sweat constantly it’s not just flushes so have meds for that also. I’d love to say exercise and diet was all I needed but unfortunately not.

I carry a good quality neck fan everywhere I go. Can’t be without them. Instant relief. You can be hands free with them. I cycle between jobs too ;)

Medication has helped with the main symptoms, then supplements and most recently exercise.

I try hard to keep up the exercise as it really helps my symptoms...not always easy to get my trainers on these days but I give myself a talking to and go for a run. Audible on my phone helps take my mind off the running, which is getting slower week on week! No such thing as a bad run tho’

I think you should also include self care as an option. Being kind to myself and giving myself pamper time has helped me a lot

I’ve found all of the above helpful in managing my symptoms. The most important being making time for self care.

I checked exercise because I was doing meditation, supplements, nutrition but I was still dealing with more than one symptoms. The most annoying one was early wake and insomnia at times. Since I went back to work, and have to walk 15mins in to job from bus (I do this walk twice per day) and stand for lengthy waiting for bus. My sleep has gotten better, hot flashes minimize and night sweats minimize. All I did was add walking to what I was already doing and there is a big difference.

Unfortunately, I’ve had to resort to emergency Diazepam and metoprolol.

Not sure if PMDD or peri menopause or combination, but after a few years of the most horrific depression/mood swings, Duloxotine has been a life saver.

Lesley Hi I was suffering so bad with hot flashes day and night Started running on treadmill 4 times a week for 30 mins Cut out cakes and biscuits. Have natural yogurt spoon full of raw honey and two tablespoons of flax seed daily all mixed together . My hot flashes have gone totally and my skin looks so fresh. I am 52 , 11 month in with no period so fingers crossed approaching menopause Might not work for everyone but I feel a completely different person ?

I can’t take estrogen, but for me progestin (norethindrone acetate) made a huge difference. Knocked out my anxiety, palpitations, joint and muscle pain, nausea, severe PMS and painful, heavy, long periods. Still dealing with weight gain, BO, low libido, and night sweats. But I’ll take what I can get at this point!
