I’ve been in perimenopause for the last two years. My symptoms are not too bad apart for night sweats and hot flushes. As you guys know, every day a new symptom appears. The one that is really bothering me is the taste of metal in my mouth all the time. I have a steel water bottle that I’ve been using since September, could it be this? I even thought my fillings were giving me a problem, but got checked and all is good. I have the horrible taste all the time. Have any others experienced this symptom? Thanks for any help.

Recently I have had a horrible taste in my mouth in the middle of the night and in the morning. It is not the typical morning breath, but just an awful, uncomfortable taste.

I have been getting hit with many bad symptoms. Taste in mouth, mine is bland, not much flavor, off tasting. But I have been having the burning tongue too. Do the symptoms ever go away? Cause I bursitis hitting all my joints, can barely move

I’ve had this metal taste in my mouth too. From morning throughout the day. Only thing that’s helped it a bit is sucking on ice blocks. Brushing my teeth and my tongue (not too much) and sugar free gum and increase fluid intake. For coffee drinkers beware because it can make the metal taste and dryness of the mouth worse.

My taste is all jacked up to the point where I can’t eat meat anymore. Can’t stand the way it tastes or smells. All my perfumes don’t smell the same anymore. I’m so worried my breath smells & I don’t know because nothing smells the same way anymore. Does it every go back to normal. It’s been 2 years for me.

I will often get a numbing sensation in my mouth and nothing taste right. It’s almost like I’ve been to the dentist and the numbing agent is wearing off.

My top lip started doing that two days ago. Both top and bottom lips are numb today. Has yours gotten any better?

Try plastic utensils and water bottle? Might help. Also bamboo could help.

Nothing tastes as good as it used to. It’s been a few weeks. I’m really sad about the idea of loss of enjoyment of foods and drinks. Is it forever? I would love to hear from anyone who has gotten to the other side of peri and found that things taste good again and there’s generally less symptoms.

A couple weeks of the month it’s almost impossible for me to eat and not want to throw up. Nothing tastes right but the fam says dinner tastes good! Most of time I have to throw my dinner away. I have a hormone supplement on the way, I’m hoping it will help!!
